Police are searching for two young women who were the targets of an alleged flasher at Waihi Beach over the weekend.

They are appealing for any information relating to the incident that occurred at the southern end of the beach last Sunday, at about 12.30pm.

Reports state a witness saw the man expose himself to the girls before running back to the sand dunes. The witness then trailed the alleged flasher until police arrived.

But by the time officer arrived the two young women had left the scene and police are appealing to them or anyone who knows the pair to come forward and speak with them.

They are also asking anyone who may have experienced or know of any similar incidents on Waihi Beach to make contact with them.
