Metal giants to play Tauranga

Devilskin's The Mountains and the Moon Tour has been beyond the band's wildest dreams with the four-piece metal band playing sell out gigs almost every night.

The tour kicked-off on September 18 when the Hamilton-based line-up played Altitude Bar in Hamilton.

Villainy and City of Souls will be opening for Devilskin at ASB Arena tomorrow night. For a sneak peak of what Villainy and City of Souls sound like, check out the videos below.

Bassist Paul Martin, aka The Axeman, the vibe the band gets back from the crowds is 'amazing”.

'The tour has been beyond our wildest expectations. It's been really cool crowd. We have sold out most of the shows and some of them have almost sold out,” Paul tells SunLive.

'We're playing to big crowds every night and the vibe back from the crowds is amazing. The crowd being so familiar with the songs off the album now and we have taken the opportunity to play some new stuff. They seem to be going down really well.”

Devilskin will be playing Tokoroa tonight before heading to ASB Arena tomorrow night.

Paul says Tokoroa was one of the first shows to sell out.

'The Bay is one of my favourite places. I love it over there and we always have a really good response every time we have played in that neck of the woods. We're looking forward to see what the ASB Arena is like.”

People heading to the gig tomorrow night are in for a real treat, says Paul.

Before they are indulged with the stunning vocals of Jennie Skulander, ripping guitar work of Nail, hard-hitting drums of Nic Martin and smooth, but punchy, bass skills of Paul, the crowd will get to enjoy opening acts Villainy and City of Souls.

'Villainy and City of Souls have both been amazing. It's a real treat to get these two awesome bands play before us. They set the bar pretty high for the night,” explains Paul.

'They have risen to the challenge and both bands are on fire. It's a really cool night out and the audience really gets their money's worth.”

The crowd will also be treated to a new acoustic song called Closer that will see both Paul and Nail place acoustic guitar.
