Tauranga parents are being warned they will have to make up the shortfall created by the government’s early childhood education funding cuts.

Peter Monteith.

Tauranga Region Kindergartens Principal Peter Monteith says in total this will be over $850,000 annually for the region.
“The government’s funding cuts, which commence this month, for services such as kindergartens, mean we have had to ask parents for voluntary donations to maintain our high standards.”
Peter says the TRK is committed to providing the best start for children in their education journey by continuing to employ 100 per cent trained and registered teachers.
“Our parents support that policy, but the only way we can afford that is to seek financial support from them.”
“Government should recognise the vital role high quality Early Childhood Education plays in all facets of children’s later life and reinstate the funding.”

From what I have seen on the funding website this massive loss means they can only make a maximum of $110 per teacher per hour instead of $120 .......... poor things

Well there is no money

If there is no money what you do? I we get more in debt. Why don’t you go out there and find it some where else the bank is closed.
