Bay school wins ITM Cup makeover

Malfroy Primary School's love of rugby has landed them a $10,000 make over thanks to an ITM Cup promotion.

The Rotorua school has won the ITM Cup ‘Because we love it here' schools promotion and will receive a $10,000 working bee.

The promotion has been running throughout the Bay of Plenty during the ITM Cup Competition.

Schools were asked to collect stickers at each home match during the season, with the school collecting the most stickers winning the funds.

Malfroy Primary School principal Nicky Brell was delighted when he received the good news this week.

'The first thing that comes to mind is our old school hall kitchen,” says Nicky. 'The kitchen is used by our Breakfast Club and is in need of an upgrade.

'But we will look to talk to the students and the board to see what other ideas we can come up with before making our decision. We are just delighted we have won at the moment.”

ITM will be delivering 13 prizes to primary schools across the country.

The Bay of Plenty Rugby Union will hold a short ceremony at the end of this Sunday's Steamers match against Wellington at ASB Baypark Stadium, to present Malfroy Primary with their prize.
