A Tauranga school played host to a trio of Northern Knights players today, who put youngsters through their paces with some skills coaching ahead of the 2015/15 cricket season.

Black Caps international Daniel Flynn was joined by Bharat Popli and Brett Hampton at Otumoetai Intermediate this morning along with 20 youngsters keen to brush up on their batting and bowling.

Batsman Flynn, who is based in the Bay of Plenty, says: 'It's been good. We've gone over the basics with the kids and helping out where we can is all good fun.

'It's good to get back into the community. Cricket is on a high at the moment after the World Cup at the start of the year, so everyone enjoyed themselves.

'When I was young we were lucky enough to have players come in to our school, and you look forward to those days. So it's good to be able to give something back.”
