Rothbury scholarships open for 2015

A Tauranga insurance brokers company is searching out talented, passionate and determined Kiwis who are ready to ‘do their thing and own their tomorrow' by applying for a 2015 scholarship.

Tauranga windsurfer Coral Headey received a $5000 boost after being awarded the Rothbury Tauranga Regional Scholarship in 2014.

Rothbury Tauranga launched its 2015 Rothbury Tauranga Scholarships today, with up to $5000 available this year.

Whether it's a community project, a business idea, a passion for underwater creatures, education or a dream to represent New Zealand at the next Olympics – Rothbury Tauranga encourages inspirational individuals from all walks of life to apply.

Applications to the Rothbury Tauranga Scholarships are open from July 27 and close on September 18, 2015.

Rothbury Tauranga general manager Jon O'Connor says the Rothbury Tauranga Scholarship sits alongside the AMP National Scholarships and forms part of the overall AMP Scholarship programme, which is one of the largest scholarship funds of its kind.

'Duirng the last 17 years it has provided over $2 million to help more than 160 Kiwis achieve and do their thing.

'From golfers to fashion and shoe designers, dancers, scientists, dog sledders, canoeists, BMX World Champions, cancer rehabilitators and underwater cameramen – the list really does go on and demonstrates the diverse range of people Rothbury Tauranga Scholarships help.

'With up to $5,000 available this year through the Rothbury Tauranga Scholarship programme, there's nothing stopping you from applying.”
