Pair arrested for Waihi burglary

Two men have been arrested for a burglary of Waihi's PGG Wrightson in May.

Police arrested their first suspect during the early stages of their investigation and the second man was arrested yesterday.

The pair have been charged with burglary and are due to appear in court.

Search warrants conducted by police at three separate properties lead to the recovery of stolen property including a Stihl chainsaw, brushcutter and rigging harness.

These items were taken during other burglaries in the Waihi area.

During the searches, police also located 199 grams of cannabis and drug utensils.

Waihi Police say this sort of offending will not be tolerated and perpetrators will be caught.

Police ask members of the public to report any suspicious activity to their nearest police station.

Alternatively, information can be left anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.
