Young pleaded guilty to the charges on July 3 and has been remanded in custody until his sentencing date.

According to the summary of facts, Young, who owned Rotorua's Skingraft Store, was found with large amounts of synthetic cannabis and related products between September and October last year.

Police searched his home, office, workshop and car, and found more than $100,000 in cash.

Just over 130 people were prosecuted for selling or distributing non-approved psychoactive substances between May and December last year, according to Ministry of Justice figures.
