Woman assaulted in Invercargill

Invercargill Police are seeking assistance from the public to identify a person believed to be involved in an incident reported today.

At about 3pm, Sunday July 5, 2015, a female student was assaulted on Leven Street, Invercargill, near the Smith City carpark.

During the assault her iPhone 6 cellphone was taken.

The suspect is described as a male, possibly Maori, approximately 6ft tall and wearing a dark coloured jacket - possibly a puffer jacket.

The cellphone is black and is in a white plastic case with colourful patterns on the rear.
