The total Lotto Powerball prize of $24.3 million is made up of $23,800,822 from Powerball First Division and $500,000 from Lotto First Division.

This is the seventh time this year that a lucky Lotto player has scooped the top Powerball prize.

In late March, a Lotto player from Auckland won $9.1 million and decided to spend some of their winnings on 'random acts of kindness”.

Another Lotto player in Waihi is also celebrating after winning $500,000 with Lotto First Division. The winning ticket was sold at Paper Plus Waihi and Toyworld in Waihi.

For the first time in its history, Strike Four jackpotted to a Must Be Won draw after reaching its threshold of $800,000. This means that because no single ticket won Strike Four, the prize pool has been added to the next highest division with winners – Strike Three.

So, 127 Strike players from across the country have won $7,357 each from the Must Be Won draw.

Meanwhile, best friends Margaret and Edith from Auckland spun the Winning Wheel and won $1 million on Saturday night's live Lotto draw.

This week's Winning Wheel ticket was sold at Marewa Pharmacy in Napier. The winning serial number 589-62129975-20XX.

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy.

Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet, online at mylotto.co.nz or through the Lotto NZ ticket-checker app.

Players can phone Lotto on 0800 695 6886 if they want to enquire about the best way to claim a prize.
