Stop/go signs and speed restrictions will be in place from tonight as contractors undertake pavement resurfacing work on State Highway 2, near the Kaituna River Bridge.

From 7pm to 6am for the next few days, SH2 to the Paengaroa SH33 junction will have the traffic management in place for the pavement resurfacing work on both approaches to the bridge.

During these there will be a 30km/h temporary speed limit.

During the day there will be a contra-flow traffic control and a 50km/h speed restriction through the unattended site.

Motorists are advised to add an extra 10 minutes to their journey.

The works are expected to be finished by 6am Friday.
