A 42-year-old man was assaulted by three other men in Masonic Park, a walkway between The Strand and Willow Street, around 1am.

The injured man is currently in a stable condition in Tauranga Hospital.

'This vehicle was seen to drive away from the park area and turn left in Willow Street, Tauranga,” says Detective Sergeant Darryl Brazier.

'The three men are described as European in their early 20s. All three were wearing dark coloured clothing. One was wearing a dark coloured beanie and one was wearing a red coloured jacket.”

I wonder

Posted on 31-05-2015 12:05 | By How about this view!

If the perpetrators of this courageous act are in any way related to the hero who reportedly punched a bus driver in the face on Wednesday or tried to rob a female bus driver a week or so ago? What is wrong with our youth?? And why can't we manage the violence and anti-social behaviour that congregates around the Bus stops at Willow Street? Is it a council responsibility to keep people safe? I don't know, but I would rather my rates spent on the safety of our communities on a daily basis than on one or two peoples social activities once or twice a month

There was another assault 10 days or so ago also. The place is not safe at night any more, I guess that is what happens with the crim getting better treatment (usually a wet bus ticket) than the victims. To much PC not enough of "get real" folks. Perhaps a good look at Singapore would help the situation here a lot.

you create a world full of do gooders who are against any form of disaplane with other individuals encouraging youth to report to an 0800 number to dob in the parent or care giver for providing a disaplanary enviroment . Pitty these anti smaking give a hug get a slap people don't come into contact with these individuals they are so finatical about encourageing . YOGI BEAR has it in a nut shell wet bus ticket mentality. Strap and cane never made me a criminal , just made me respectful . Something you don't down load or an app you purchase , something WINZ doesn't offer. Equal punishment for crime committed .

but the so called safety CCTV cameras ain't good enough to get number plates, and YES a bit of Singapore justice for theses scumbags would so sort out the problem.

Disbelief

is what I feel when I read this . How intelligent do you need to be to work out that a child without boundaries or discipline is going to turn into a crim who RESPECTS NOBODY .That's good for lawyers who set up the system to guarantee future fortunes , but makes for an ever increasingly dangerous society to live in
