Two people escaped uninjured after their car struck a cow at Pukehina last night.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Pukehina Beach Road at 7.53pm, but their services were not required and they took no action.

The woman driver and a male passenger were treated at the scene, says Te Puke St John ambulance staff today.
The cow is understood to have escaped into a paddock following the incident, while the car was later towed from the scene.
