Gull cuts petrol prices again

Gull is discounting fuel prices by ten cents a litre from 7am today (Wednesday) until noon tomorrow.

'We're happy that none of our company controlled outlets will be selling Regular grade petrol for more than $1.93 per litre,” says Dave Bodger, General Manager of Gull New Zealand.

What About Tauranga

Posted on 27-05-2015 09:56 | By Towball

We tradionally pay more for our petrol here than Rotorua Hamilton Auckland inclusive. Rotorua have Mobil and Gull competing with each other hence lower fuel prices . In Tauranga we have the port and fuel farm and yet pay on average of 12 - 15 cents a litre more. Seems the further away from the port you live the cheaper the fuel. Oil is $60 odd a barrel and & 74c aprrox on American $ we still pay on average $2 a litre. What happens when oil hits $110 a barrel will petrol be $3.50 a litre or more ?. Remember fuel is bought on a spec market of at least six mths in advance. Lower fuel prices to boost our economy this a start for most ,not all of us have a company car and unlimited free fuel, rego ,insurance etc.

You are so right "Towball". I was down at Atiamuri a couple of weekends back for a ride on my bike. I went past GULL ATIAMURI and regular 91 was $1.62.9 per litre. I had gassed up at GULL MERIVALE that's the Merivale in Tauranga and paid $1.82 per litre .20 cents a litre dearer. What I couldn't figure was how the price went up the closer you get to the bulk storage. Atiamuri is best part of two hour drive away!!!! and fuel was 20cents a litre cheaper. Just shows that we are a captive audience and we are getting right royalty screwed by the old companies whom ever they are. It's just BS of the highest degree.

Well done Gull, keep on keeping the others honest, or try to.

THanks Gull

Thanks for keeping the big boys honest. I dont see any of them leading the way with lower prices. Great to see you are now in Te Puke too. That will give the other two price fixers a run for their money.

Thanks Gull...........

Again you show it is possible to discount and survive in the market, once again the "price fixers" are, or should be red faced over this...so big though they just don't give a damn!
