CBRE to fill Papamoa Plaza shops

As the $20 million dollar expansion of the Papamoa Plaza continues the centre is now looking to fill its shops with 'high quality tenants”.

In order to achieve that goal centre owners Cephas Property Management has selected CBRE New Zealand retail service division as the sole retail leasing agency for the Papamoa Plaza.

Centre manager David Hill says they actively sought out CBRE because of the company's reputation for being the 'leaders in retail leasing for the Bay of Plenty.”

Having worked with the company in the past, David is also looking particularly forward to working with CBRE New Zealand Retail Services associate director Jonathan Curtis.

'Jonathan has a lot of experience in the Tauranga and Bay of Plenty areas so we specifically went after him,” says David. 'He's a nationally recognised specialist in retail leasing and so we've called on the best to give us a hand to find the best.”

The centre is currently in Stage 2A of the two-phase works project which sees 14,000m2 of existing retail space refurbished, plus the creation of 6000m2 of new space over the next 12 months.

David says having the best businesses calling the Papamoa Plaza ‘home' would only mean bigger and better things for the area.

'Jonathan, who has a long list of great contacts, was identified as the go-to-person for the Tauranga region.

'Right now we're on the cusp of something really big, we want the best people at Papamoa Plaza and we've only got one shot to get it right.

Please for the love of god give us some decent quality shops, incredibly inconvenient having to drive to Auckland to do our clothes shopping.

expatAucklander....if you can see an abvious hole n the marketplace that will make the owner of that shop[ very rich, then how about you put up the $$ and go for it. Shopping plazas don't "give" us decent shops, they have tenants who can see a dollar to be made renting the space and running a business. Have a go!

I think you missed the point, This article is entirely about the mall appointing CBRE leasing agent for the new spaces and as screening agent for potential tenants, my request was aimed squarely at them.

Anyone who drives to Ak to buy clothes has too much time or money or both. Plenty of choice in Papamoa, Bayfair or Tauranga for most normal folk.
