Finally, I have found a gardening solution that fits my lifestyle and location, and I am totally hooked.

I really enjoy cooking and eating fresh produce, and always struggle with meal ideas if I don’t have fresh ingredients on hand to start with.

There never seems to be enough time to plant and maintain a garden – GreenSmart pots have solved all my problems. In no time at all I am producing an abundance of delicious, healthy Microgreens.

Every night I arrive home and check my plants; I swear they grow inches every day.
I am harvesting enough from two large pots to feed us for dinner every night and for lunch everyday. This system is just sensational, not to mention how rewarding it is to be growing my own healthy food.

I really did not have much of an idea of what Microgreens actually were, so when I arrived home with my pots and packets of King Seeds, I thought ‘Hmmm, will these things actually grow into edible food?’ My idea of gardening is really buying plants and putting them in the ground (instant garden).
However, after a quick read of the instructions, I set up the pots and had basil, beetroot, cress, radish, pea Fiji feathers and rocket, all planted and conveniently placed outside the back door on a bench. Great news – no bending down! I was amazed when a few days later, up they came; I was harvesting within eight days. My father-in-law keeps threatening to thin the seedlings!

All you do is cut them off at just above ground level with herb scissors. The pea Fiji feathers grow back, the rest, once you have finished your row, you can just dig in, and then simply replant. Having two pots in rotation means you always have plants ready for harvest.

I now have three pots on the go, including a smaller one, which is ideal for taking on boats, to the bach or camping. King Seeds have a fabulous website with all sorts of interesting varieties to try. I am having a ball, and have also started producing my own sprouts again.
