People who are stuck on finding the perfect Christmas gift for that special person may be interested in the New Zealand Tree Crops Association’s Recipe Book.
Beyond Apple Pie – Savouring your Seasonal Fruit, contains recipes for many of the crops typically grown by tree croppers. These include almonds, feijoas, figs, hazelnuts, olives, pecans, citrus and blueberries.

The chapters of the book are divided by crop and there is information on each crop’s botany, cultivation features and the uses of the crop. This is then followed by recipes for which the crop is listed as an ingredient.
Beyond Apple Pie has evolved with new recipes added to the book since new crops have been introduced to New Zealand.   
The book costs $20 per copy plus a $2 postage and packing fee.
