The Havaianas brand, first made in Brazil in 1962, can be found gracing the soles of people of all ages during the summer months. They come in a rainbow of more than 20 different colours and a range of prints and styles, including Havaianas for babies.

Havaianas were first inspired by the Zori – typical Japanese sandals made of fabric straps and rice straw soles. The foot-bed of all Havaianas has the unmistakeable feature of a textured rice pattern.

To this day, over three billion pairs of Havaianas have been sold the world over, and if lined up, they would go around the earth 40 times.

In 2009, 184 million pairs were sold, which is 504,110 pairs of Havaianas per day, 210,005 pairs per hour, and six pairs every second.
