SunLive Competition

Summerhouse Chardonnay is a powerful wine with juicy ripe fruit lifted with fresh sweet oak that captures the essence of long, hot summer days.
The 24 hectare Summerhouse Vineyard was planted in 1995 by Heather and Meric Davies. Summerhouse is an environmentally friendly vineyard, having held Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand status since its inception.

The label’s intense varietal flavours derive from the warm and free draining old glacial soils typical of the Wairau Valley.
Summerhouse concentrates on capturing the pure fruit flavours of the grape. A focus on quality grapes lets the fruit express itself naturally, avoiding the need for heavy winemaking influences.
This lovely wine has aromas of ripe white peach, apricots and hints of citrus. It’s juicy and succulent with delicious fruit flavours, a very fine structure and a long elegant finish that cleanses the palate. It will partner many dishes, making it a great wine to have in the cellar. Good news is that Karo at Gambino’s in Grey Street has it at only $23, so make sure you grab a bottle before you head home. Enjoy!

Entrants must be aged 18 years or over. Entries must be received by September 15. Only people registered on SunLive are eligible to win.
