Among the draw cards for the 2010 Garden and Artfest held in the Bay of Plenty is New Zealand’s most famous bug man Ruud Kleinpaste.

The ‘bug man’ has worked for over 20 years as an advocate for the creepy crawlies of the world, making them stars of radio and television through Maggie’s Garden Show and documentaries for the Discovery Channel.

Ruud is the man responsible for giving bugs the ecological credit they deserve and for answering all those questions that ‘bug’ people.

Ruud is involved in the festival as a speaker in the Bay of Plenty Times Speaker Series and is due to give his presentation on Saturday, November 13 at the Sebel Trinity Wharf Hotel.

His topic is ‘Gardening and Bugs and Sustainable Methods for Today’s World’.
