The show, winner of the 2010 Helpmann Award Best Australian Contemporary Concert, interweaves Cash’s much-revered music with the fascinating story of his rise to stardom, his fight for survival and his eventual redemption. Multi-ARIA award-winning Australian singer Tex Perkins (The Cruel Sea) brings the country music legend to life, leading The Tennessee Four. Tex has been in the entertainment industry for 27 years, once part of award winning Australian rock band The Cruel Sea as well as performing with Beasts of Bourbon and Tex, Don and Charlie. Tex has also branched out to many solo projects in the early 2000s. Tex is joined by singer Rachael Tidd as June Carter Cash. Rachael studied music before training as an actor at The Victorian College of the Arts. She has since performed all over Australia, playing various instruments, acting and singing. The show features dozens of Cash's greatest hits including Ring of Fire, I Walk the Line, Folsom Prison Blues, Get a Rhythm and Bird on a Wire.
