SunLive CompetitionNext weekend, May 13-15, marks the 12th anniversary of the region’s favourite home and lifestyle event, the Tauranga Home Show.
“It really is much more than a Home Show,” says Tauranga show organiser Graeme Martin of Bay Events. “Now into its second decade, the show just keeps getting bigger and better and this month’s event will be no different. “We set out to inform people about the huge range of options in building and decorating their home, but we recognise we need to entertain people as well and it’s this combination of ingredients that make for such a great day out.” The Tauranga Home Show, a hugely interactive event, is designed for young and old alike. For the young there’s a special petting farm addition this year, as well as the popular big bouncy castle corner. For the more mature, there are a lot of smaller-type products and services available, that don’t cost the earth, to taste, to try and to buy. Graeme says the health and beauty zone in Pavilion 1 is another popular spot, “especially for the ladies and if you’re lucky, you might score a wee glass of bubbly or some chocolates. To make sure everything ends up alright, we’ve hired the flashest loos we can get, at great expense, especially with the ladies in mind”. Back by popular demand is the Spruce Up Company live entertainment zone, with sweet music, fine foods and plenty of activities from 10am-5pm daily. There’s everything people need to make their home and lifestyle a better place and with cooking and tasting demos in the Taste Tauranga food marquee all day long, it’s a great way to spend the day. The ‘family rated’ Tauranga Home Show at Baypark Stadium on May 13-15 is open 10am-5pm daily. Win: One of 10 double passes to give away with SunLive.
