SunLive - The Bay's news first

SunLive Competition

It was great to see Bel Mondo has my all-time favourite yoghurt in store; Clevedon Valley Buffalo Yoghurt, which is truly to die for.

Add in my other current addiction, Heilala vanilla and this product is an absolute winner.

The yoghurt is made using milk from buffalos farmed in New Zealand.

This yoghurt can be used in so many ways, but I have to confess; my favourite is straight into the bowl with Heilala Vanilla syrup drizzled over the top, perfect for those moments when you just need a wicked indulgence. Good news though, this yoghurt contains acidophilus, is naturally thick, high in calcium and low in cholesterol.

I was also impressed at the excellent range of mustards, one in particular stood out; an Edmond Fallot mustard, a brand established in 1840. This mustard, with its base of blackcurrant and white wine, made a perfect base for a crust for my venison back-strap. I simply mixed fresh breadcrumbs, a good quality olive oil (available at Bel Mondo), and the mustard. Press into the venison and roast, slice thinly and serve with steamed seasonal vegetables and roasted potatoes.

If you don’t have time to drop into Bel Mondo for a browse around, then visit www.belmondo.co.nz
