I made my own ricotta last week, but I have to say, I think I need to leave it to the experts at Clevedon Valley and just pick it up from Bel Mondo next time I feel the need. It sure is a lot easier and tastier.

Clevedon Valley Buffalo is a New Zealand company which makes extremely high quality Italian products. The beauty of Ricotta is its versatility – it can be baked, fried and used in sweet or savoury dishes. It is ideal for pastry fillings or simply drizzled with limencello or a liqueur of your preference. Claudia – the owner of Bel Mondo – tells us her Italian grandfather only ever had his ricotta drizzled with Grappa – the authentic way to use it!

The limencello we had the pleasure of sampling was divinely smooth, refreshing and very addictive – every single limencello tastes different because of the lemons used. The Santa Marta variety we sampled uses lemons from Sicily.
