Briars Horse Trek is situated south of Te Puke in the countryside at Paengaroa.

“We used to be located at Maketu, but moved into the forest where we have access to hundreds of acres, all boasting amazing scenic views and the riding is lovely and peaceful by the river,” says owner Briar Mascheretti.

Briar’s Horse Treks can be catered to small and large groups, both for experienced and inexperienced riders. Group treks are perfect for family outings, romantic getaways, overseas visitors, school groups, corporate groups and team building.

Treks range from half-hour pony rides, suitable for children as young as four, to hour-long and half-day treks, which travel through native forest paths near rivers, streams and waterfalls, where wildlife sightings are common.
