Two Tauranga teenagers, Courtney Tilby and Olivia Scott-Price, are hoping to gain the support of builders in their effort to build a house in the slums of Mexico. The queues are long at Gold Star Patrick's Pies Bakery in Bethlehem after the store's bacon and egg pie won the supreme award at the Bakel Pie Awards on Tuesday night. A group of Tauranga women is donating $330 to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation after participating in a 'Girls' Night in... the Dark' on Friday night. Colin and Sue Reid have begun picking this year's daffodils and are expecting to pick 120,000 bunches of them this season. They are full time flower growers at Kaimai View Flowers and have five acres in Bethlehem and 20 in Katikati. Junior Under 8 rugby teams Papamoa Orange and Arataki had a great game of rugby on Saturday morning at Blake Park. There are ten players to a side when barefoot tackle rugby is played.   It was the Papamoa's and Arataki's first year in the tackle rugby grade. Papamoa won the game 9-3. Bethlehem College Sting and Matua School Ferns battled it out today, Saturday in the Future Ferns Year 5 A Grade netball competition at Blake Park.  Despite a chilly morning a good game was played between the two schools.
