Football fun at Ferguson Park

Otumoetai Football Club teams Angola and Croatia had a fun game on Saturday morning playing mini football at Ferguson Park.
The Otumoetai Football Club runs its own round robin competition during term two and three of the school calendar; 208 children are involved comprising of 26 teams.

Today’s player of the day was Kooper Smith from team Angola and from team Croatia Matthew O’Connor.
Mini football is a participative and non-competitive form of football. There is no score kept and the aim of the game is fun and learning new skills.
Otumoetai Football Club mini football age group coordinator Tracy Biddle says at the end of the season there is no winner.
“But if you ask the children they keep the score for all the games".
