Police scour city for offenders

Police are scouring Tauranga for three men involved in separate domestic incidents.
The incidents occurred on Friday morning at James Cook Drive in Welcome Bay, Lloyd Street in Merivale and in Otumoetai near Darraghs Road.


Police and ambulance staff at the domestic incident on Lloyd Street in Merivale at about 10am on Friday morning.

Sergeant Chris Summerville says police units will continue roaming Tauranga for the men until they are found.
“Their partners are quite on edge but we are trying to track them down.”
The female victim at the Lloyd Street incident was treated by St John medical staff at the scene.
A St John spokesperson says the woman is in her 30s and sustained minor injuries.
Police dogs were used to search for the man involved in the Otumoetai domestic incident.
Chris says the men pose no risk to the public and is confident they will be caught.
“We just want to catch them. There’s no doubt they’ll be caught and spoken to. Half the time they hand themselves in.”
