Traffic delays following Tauranga crash

Traffic is reportedly backed up to Elizabeth Street following a crash near the Tauranga Bridge Marina.

A reporter at the scene says the crash is affecting Mount-bound traffic.

"Traffic is down to one lane on the west side (Tauranga to Mount side)."

St John Paramedics are at the scene, along with police.

"It's a nose-to-tail crash between a ute and car.

"Don't know if there are any injuries.

"The front bonnet of Ute has been damaged and the bumper of the car in front has been damaged . 

"Traffic is flowing from Tauranga towards Mount Maunganui but is slow moving due to being reduced to one lane at the Bridge Marina traffic lights."

Police comfirm that one lane is blocked and traffic management is in place until the vehicles are towed.
